What are good AR markers?

images/spots that have unchanging lighting conditions
graphically clear shapes - something the software can identify

It is however possible to set AR in the real world not with a location marker but an image - neither of which are working

Inspiring project: Using VR headset with a kinect that films the user and relays the information into the VR headset in real time so that the user sees themselves in a VR environment
> This is the first step towards an entirely immersive experience and hints at a future were reality and the virtual experience might become harder to tell apart

VR and machine learning (Chomsky vs. Chomsky): this studio had a strong mix of using technology and dealing with technological themes through a highly artistic and aesthetic style - both fully complimenting each other on the highest level

e.g.
The project that takes the user inside the human body and creates a beautiful light experience in which the user moves through a tunnel in VR creating textural changes in the tunnel by pointing a flashlight - this being an artistic translation of a medical tool and a JOURNEY THROUGH THE BODY IN VR - Moreover, the idea to connect the experience back to the tangible by creating a 3D printed sculptural equivalent of the digital tunnel environment and allowing onlookers to see were the user is located in real time through lighting on the sculpture. Highly innovative, artistic and reminds me of ways of thought about the body and abstraction.

Similarly translating investigations on how another animal e.g. a fish perceives its environment into a VR experience that uses movement as wave echoes that illuminate an underwater environment > the research to concept to execution-phase felt very relatable

It is possible to make laser scans of an entire city - it is also somehow possible to convert Google Maps images and info on a city into a 3D model + interesting how they connected this with real-time data that had a connection to the specific location - making it extremely sight specific

VVVV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They used vvvv as a hybrid visual/textual live-programming environment for easy prototyping and development for almost every project to create and program the connection between different inputs e.g. kinect to VR or graphics to movement of screens - for realtime visuals

+ you can render a pointcloud from google somehow..

Machine learning - using audio recordings of a philosopher e.g.

Interaction between renaissance - opulent space and very modern media - screen presentation with a threesome of three large screens building a triangle directed towards all corners of the space
kling klang klong's work in the Futurium that played with the similar idea I've had often on the dance floor; "What can the movement of hands mean?" How could they be translated to language or to music or to visuals or to control something or communicate something 'else'.
The studio set up the technology to track hand movement and allow the user to compose music through movement - like the digital translation of the THEREMIN!
The interface was very nice because through simple white lines I could see that the camera was detecting my hand movement quite precisely and I can easily scale the 3D modelled object cluster - the only thing that was slightly disappointing was that it was difficult to distinguish any real effect on the sound.
Good overview of studios that work with design, art and tech in Berlin

Interesting to go to in 2020 - probably preferably as a volunteer

THIS GUY OFFERED THAT IF WE WANT TO GET IN CONTACT WITH ANY OF THESE INSPIRING ARTIST AND STUDIOS HE PRESENTED WE SHOULD JUST REACH OUT IN A MAIL ! AMAZING CONTACT TO A NETWORK!

Kimchi and Chips studio - that work with Instillation art that plays with and employs natural phenomena like light and water reflections in technically skillfull and inspiring ways!

> spatial, instillations!

Sofia Crespo - machine learning masch-ups of plants and animals - Neural Zoo

Zach Lieberman - Instagram @zach.lieberman

Weird type app - instagram account :
presumably most of his projects are built with 'Open Frameworks'

Gene Kogan - AI art filter that translates image input into the style of an artist

Christian Mio Loclaire - project: 3D Gan - GAN (Generative Adversarial Network; meaning using computer learning to create images) uses the technology to create abstract artistic shapes.
In general extreme aesthetic and creative translation of using GANS

Certain measurements - disassembling an re-assembling a house : certainmeasures.com (also interesting for documentation)
Aesthetically I'm very drawn to this style of documentation and plays with analog ways of telling a story that feel more nostalgic

like the documentary film of Lucia Margarita Bauer.
I really enjoyed Lu Yang's approach of taking a medical perspective or procedure or 'truth' as starting point ad translating this into her own visual style
